1968 Ford Mustang
Air-Conditioning Evaporator/Heater Plenum Box


Restored for JD's Auto Restoration in Pennsylvania.

They were working on a high end restoration and requested everything new that was available. 
Rebuilt using a new blower motor and vacuum actuator.
The housing was refinished after repairing a broken mount hole for the floor duct.

Air-Conditioning Evaporator/Heater Plenum Box

Restored for JD's Auto Restoration in Pennsylvania.

They were working on a high end restoration and requested everything new that was available. 
Rebuilt using a new vacuum actuator & all new foam seals.
The master switch was acid soaked/cleaned, lubricated and tested to function correctly.
The housing was refinished..

 
 

EVAPORATOR UNITS
 

1967-68 Ford Mustang & Mercury Cougar
Air-Conditioning Evaporator/Heater Plenum Box



The original evaporator coil was flushed clean internally, pressure tested with Nitrogen in a tank of water overnight at 250psi
and the fins were cleaned out and straightened
The upper and lower fiberglass case housings have been refinished, including some fiberglass repairs.
This is the early style housing that was used on 1967 models.  It will function exactly the same, regardless of being installed in a 1967 or 1968. 
A NEW heater core/coil has been installed.
All
NEW foam seals have been installed.  Both vacuum actuators have been cleaned and tested to hold vacuum function correctly in multiple positions.
The heater valve vacuum control switch has been cleaned & tested to hold & release vacuum properly. 

 

1969-70 Ford Mustang & Mercury Cougar

The evaporator coil, thermostat, fan/blower switch were reconditioned.  New expansion valve was installed.
The upper and lower case housings were restored to the original finish.
The original knobs, chrome bezel (with minor pitting) and "Ford" crest have been cleaned and painted as necessary.
New ball louvers were  installed.

The evaporator coil, expansion valve, thermostat, fan/blower switch & blower motor were reconditioned.
The upper and lower case housings were restored to the original finish.
The original knobs, chrome bezel have been cleaned (they do have some minor pitting) and new ball louvers were installed.

The upper and lower case housings were restored to the original finish.

HEATER BOXES
 

1963-64 Ford Galaxie/1964-65 Ford Fairlane

A NEW copper heater coil was installed, door seals were replaced.
The finish on the housing has been restored.  The original blower motor assembly was cleaned & tested.

 

1963-64 Ford Truck
Factory Non-A/C Heater Box

 



The entire unit was dismantled and the fiberglass portion of the heater box was repaired (they almost always have fiberglass damaged) and refinished. All the metal pieces were bead-blasted and repainted. All the foam seals were replaced. All three mounting stud threads were cleaned and new mounting nuts. The original blower motor assembly is has been cleaned & tested; running for over an hour. A NEW aluminum heater coil have been installed. The original two-terminal blower resistor has been cleaned & tested to function correctly.
 
 
 

HEATER CONTROLS (A/C & HEAT)
 

1964 Ford Galaxie Heater Control (Non-A/C)

The fan & vacuum mode switches were acid cleaned/dipped & lubricated & tested to function correctly. 
NOTE - This control is correct for all 1964-66 Thunderbird with factory air-conditioning.

 
 

1965-66 Ford Galaxie A/C Heater Control


The fan & vacuum mode switches were acid cleaned/dipped & lubricated & tested to function correctly. 
NOTE - This control is correct for all 1964-66 Thunderbird with factory air-conditioning.

 

1969-70 Ford Galaxie A/C Heater Control


 

The fan, heater vacuum & vacuum mode switches were acid cleaned/dipped & lubricated & tested to function correctly.
The bezel was cleaned and white lettering was repainted.

 

1971-72 Ford Galaxie A/C Heater Control


 

The fan, heater vacuum & vacuum mode switches were acid cleaned/dipped & lubricated & tested to function correctly.
The bezel was cleaned and white lettering was repainted.

Knobs were buffed out and/or replaced as needed. 

 
 
 
 
 

1964-66 Ford Thunderbird A/C Heater Control


The fan, vacuum mode and vacuum regular switches were acid cleaned/dipped & lubricated & tested to function correctly. 
A backing lens was refinished and a new clear lens overlay was installed.  The knobs were cleaned/buffed with some minor pitting.
NOTE - This control is correct for all 1964-66 Thunderbird with factory air-conditioning.

 

1964-66 Ford Thunderbird Heater Control (Non-A/C)


The fan switch was acid cleaned/dipped & lubricated & tested to function correctly. 
A backing lens was refinished and a new clear lens oeverlay was installed.
NOTE - This control is correct for all 1964-66 Thunderbird with non-a/c heater.
