VIR ELIMINATOR - TYPE - 2 WHEN CONVERTING TO 134a THE VIR MUST BE ELIMINATED FOR SYSTEM TO FUCNTION EFFICIENTLY! 1973-76 General Motors - VIR Upgrade/Eliminator Kit Since VIR's cannot be calibrated for the newer 134a, this is the recommended route to take. This valve converts the the system over the new cycling-orifice system that GM went to in 1977 and has been using ever since.
